[VIDEO/TRAILER] Check Out The Emotional Trailer for TVOne’s (@tvonetv) Bobbi Kristina Brown Biopic!

It is hard to believe it has now been a little over two years since Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter and only child of the late and great Whitney Houston passed. The pain is just as real now as it was then. She was a beautiful, talented young woman with much potential and apparently an equally troubled life.

WELL TVONE  IS PREPARING TO SHOW ALL OF THIS, AND HAS PRODUCED A BIOPIC OF BOBBI KRISTINA SET TO BE RELEASED SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8TH!

The pain is just as real now as it was then. She was a beautiful, talented young woman with much potential and apparently an equally troubled life.

Well TVOne  is preparing to show all of this, and has produced a biopic of Bobbi Kristina set to be released Sunday, October 8th!

E! News also has your exclusive first look at the emotional TV movie in the exclusive trailer above, which is set to air tonight on the network during the premiere of When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story.

Stuck in the Middle’s Joy Rovaris takes on the role of Bobbi, while Grown Up’s Nadji Jeter will portray her boyfriend Nick Gordon, and their complicated relationship is one of the trailer’s main focuses, in addition to Bobbi’s struggle with growing up in the shadow of the spotlight of her mother, with Demetria McKinney portraying the late music legend.

“You heard the news,” the trailer reads. “You never heard her story. Until now.”

This biopic is definitely making news, especially if E! News is covering it! We have to say the cast looks great and most of all we love that Demetria McKinney is playing Whitney! Demetria is an amazing actress and singer, and will do the role of Whitney Houston some serious justice. Bobbi Kristina’s death will always go down in history as a true tragedy, but serves as a reminder that “fame ain’t always fun.” Being a celebrity kid may sometimes be harder than being an actual celebrity. Growing up is hard enough, try doing it in limelight while simultaneously being in your parents’ shadows.

A Moving Film & Amazing Night, TV One’s (@tvonetv) “Bad Dad Rehab” is Nothing Short of Powerful!

When it comes to “made for TV movies” often times they are cheesy, horribly filmed, and rarely worthwhile. Just think off all the predictable Lifetime movies we have grown up watching with the same themes, recurring actors, and villain archetypes. Well TVOne is definitely breaking the mold in its latest film for television, Bad Dad Rehab! Starring Robert Ri’Chard, Wesley Jonathan, Rob Riley, and Rick Gonzalez, the film entails the lives of four “Deadbeat Dads;” each of whom take a parenting class, “Bad Dad Rehab,” to learn how to reconnect with their children and be better fathers, partners, and co-parents.

Led by their group facilitator Mr. Leon (Malik Yoba), each of their stories is moving as they struggle to balance what they want to do, need to do, and face their own “daddy issues.” This is easily a film that every man, especially fathers–good and bad–need to see.  The film does have a lot of lighthearted moments, and superbly integrating entertainment and informing the audience to social issues at the same time. There are a lot of fatherless children in our society and for many of them it is because their fathers are absentee. These are not always the stereotypical dead beat dads we hear so much about, but are instead men who do not know their legal rights as fathers.

An “UnSung” Hit–“Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story!” (@MikiHowardlive)

When it comes to biopics perhaps other networks should be taking notes from TVOne! Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story is undoubtedly a hit! The film, starring as Teyonah Parris (Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse, Dear White People) as singer, Miki Howard, details the rise, fall, and comeback of the once dynamic diva as she survives abandonment, rejection, domestic violence, and drug abuse.

You would never imagine she has gone through so much, and still remains the powerhouse she is today.

R&B Divas: Atlanta Reportedly Cancelled!

Well it looks like these reality television shows are getting cancelled one by one. After countless protests and advertisers pulling from VH1’s Sorority Girls, they have finally taken it off of the air (the last 3 episodes will air this Friday) and now reportedly TV One has cancelled R&B Divas: Atlanta.

After countless protests and advertisers pulling from VH1’s Sorority Girls, they have finally taken it off of the air (the last 3 episodes will air this Friday) and now reportedly TV One has cancelled R&B Divas: Atlanta.

The show, which has had three seasons, featured R&B singers: LaTavia (of Destiny’s Child), Monifah, Syleena, Kameelah, Angie Stone, and Keke Wyatt.

According to Love B. Scott, TV One hasn’t confirmed its cancellation, but the cast members were allegedly told earlier this week that the show would not be back for another season.

The reason why? Rumor has it that the lawsuit against R&B Divas, a spin-off to Hollywood Divas, from Nicci Gilbert is to blame. Todd Tucker of RHOA produces Hollywood Divas.

Will you miss R&B Divas: Atlanta?

McKinley Freeman Warms & Wins Hearts in “Second Chance Christmas!”

McKinley Freeman is best known for his role as “Derek Roman” on VH-1’s Hit The Floor. This weekend, however, we saw a softer and sweeter side of the seemingly bad boy actor in TVOne’s original holiday movie, Second Chance Christmas. In the film, McKinley is “Malcolm” a celebrity business manager for hot shot basketball player. He falls for Maisie (Robinne Lee), a single mother who is very close to her son and only child, Lawrence (Michael Rainey, Jr.).
