YIKES! Chris Massey (@ChrisMasseyTMB) Alleges Shar Jackson (@SharJackson) Is Abusing His Daughter

The former “Zoey 101” actor, Chris Massey, hasn’t been seen much these days.

A few years back Chris and his brother Kyle Massey alleged that they were beat up and robbed by rapper Lil Twist and his crew. Other than that, Chris has laid low. Now, the former child actor is making headlines because he is experiencing some baby mama drama.

Chris has apparently hooked up with Shar Jackson’s daughter, Cassalei Jackson. (If you don’t remember Shar Jackson, think “Moesha” and Kevin Federline’s baby momma). Chris and Cassalei have a two-year-old daughter together. According to Chris, Shar, who is the grandmother, is too harsh with his daughter and allegedly hits her. Chris stated that once Shar left a gash on his daughter’s face, and now he is petitioning the court for a restraining order against Shar.

Maria’s interest in theater began at an early age. Writing fictional stories of her own, she fell in love with the idea of using her imagination and portraying roles of unique characters.

“When I was younger, I’d watch a lot of tv and I fell in love with the idea of playing different types of people. I’d use my imagination a lot while writing stories of my own, so I wanted to actually begin practicing using my creative skills to play the roles of other people.”


Nickelodeon’s “Kids Choice Awards” 2016 Winner’s Circle

Awards season may have started with the Oscars but things really don’t get kicked off until Nickelodeon does it’s annual Kids Choice Awards!

The 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards aired live from L.A. just yesterday, with singer and TV Personality Blake Shelton serving as the show’s host. Performers included DNCE, Silento, Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa. Stars who presented or made special appearances during the show included Anthony Anderson, Will Arnett, Rowan Blanchard, Dove Cameron, Sabrina Carpenter, Cameron Dallas, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Megan Fox, Sarah Hyland, Laura Marano, Amy Poehler, Debby Ryan, Adam Sandler, Meghan Trainor and Zendaya, among others.

Some of our celebrity faves won big including Zendaya who won Favorite Female TV Star on a Kids’ Show for her role as Kasey Cooper on K.C. Undercover, Sofia Vergara who won Favorite Female TV Star on a Family Show for her role as  Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on Modern Family and Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth who won Favorite Collaboration for their song”See You Again.”

 

Kyle (@KyleMassey) & Christopher Massey (@ChrisMasseyTMB) Make History, First Siblings & African-Americans to Be Honored In Same Emmy Category

See, not all child stars veer down the wrong path. Former Nickelodeon and Disney stars Kyle and Christopher Massey have been honored by the Georgia General Assembly  for their outstanding humanitarian work and achievements in entertainment.

According to a press release, the brothers are recognized for being the first siblings and African Americans to be nominated simultaneously for an Emmy in the same category of Outstanding Children’s Programming. Kyle was nominated for his role as Cory Baxter on the Disney Channel show, “That’s So Raven,” and Chris for playing Michael Barrett on Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101.”

“It’s a great honor,” said Christopher in an interview Tuesday. “It came out of nowhere. It’s pretty ecstatic. It’s our home state!” Both brothers live bi-coastally between Los Angeles. and Atlanta. “Atlanta is home base,” Christopher said. “We’ll never fully pack up and leave home.”

Fortunately, opportunities have grown sharply in Georgia in recent years. Kyle, for instance, had a recurring role during season two of BET’s “Being Mary Jane.” When they were kid actors along with Dakota Fanning working under talent agent Joy Pervis more than a decade ago, they had to leave Atlanta and pursue their dreams.

In Atlanta, Christopher said, “we have a very good foundation and a sense of self and community. Everything is about Southern hospitality. You’re not having paparazzi in your face every five minutes or people wondering who you’re dating. People here mind their own business. And my grandmother makes sure I take out the trash when I’m there! It keeps you grounded.”

Both are also very active in philanthropy. Christopher estimates they set aside 25 to 35 percent of their time working for charities. One of their biggest causes is Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing aids to people in need. They’ve done mission trips all over world, including South Africa, Vietnam and China. They also help the Steve Harvey Foundation, which mentors young boys, and the Christian Care Foundation in Union City.

Christopher is currently directing a new Nickelodeon show “Game Shakers.”

“Haley’s Comet” is Out of This World & Straight to Your Heart!

Nowadays it seems like everyone is trying to write a book. The problem is that very few are actually any good. Thankfully, and proudly, Brett T. Brown is one of those rare writing talents that is actually very good! His debut book, Haley’s Comet is a true breath of fresh air! Where can you read a story about a preteen, reeling from her parents’ divorce who has to move to a new town and deal with bullies, an uncertain environment, and finally the alien abduction of her mother? In this book you will. Yes, I admit it sounds a bit out there, but it is well worth the read. The sci-fi/fantasy of this book is tempered by real life issues young people any and everywhere can relate to. I particularly like how Brett’s writing style is humorous, yet relatable; indicating a promising future for this young writer!

Haley’s Comet made the perfect read along with my preteen and we actually found ourselves discussing the book over lunch and dinner during the Winter holiday break. His favorite character was Ben, while mine (naturally) was Haley. Haley just seemed so real to me. If you were a kid in the eighties and preteen or teen in the nineties then you are well acquainted with Nickelodeon’s As Told By Ginger. The protagonist of that NickToon, Ginger Foutley,  is who Haley truly reminds me of. She has just as much to freak out as anyone would with their mother being abducted, but somehow manages to keep it together. Pretty cool, in my book! BET’s The Game is calling it quits after its upcoming ninth season. the decision came after, creator and executive producer, Mara Brock Akil decided she no longer wanted to keep the series going. Naturally, fans are disappointed, but many understand the show has had a phenomenal run. Since news of the series’ ending broke many have wondered will Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Pooch Hall reprise their roles of Melanie Barnett-Davis and Derwin Davis, respectively.

Nickelodeon Proves to be Progressive & Controversial in Lesbian Ending for “Legend of Korra”

Homosexuality is nothing new. It is new, however, to Western animated series. Recently, Nickelodeon concluded Legend of Korra, sequel to its hit series Avatar The Last Airbender with an endearing scene hinting that there might be something more between two of its central characters, Korra and Asami.

Ariana Grande Goes DARK!

Ariana Grande is known three big things–her big and amazing voice, her big career, and her relationship with rapper Big Sean! Well now you can add big news to that as the songstress has finally decided to change up her hair! Yes, “The Queen of Ponytails” has opted to let her hair down and darken it with a deep brown.

As you can see there are no highlights to speak of and it looks super sexy! Ariana took to Instagram posting a “helfie,(hair seflie);” but not before making a note of her trip to the salon. Below the picture she captioned:  “snuggllled up. bedddd head (back to dark brown btw) haiiiiirrrr,”

Ariana Grande as “Cat Valentine” on Victorious

As you might recall, during her Nickelodeon days she was “Cat Valentine,” on Victorious and Sam & Cat. There, she was required to keep her hair a bright red color for years, resulting in hair damage and some loss. She opted to keep it pinned up in a long ponytail style until it repaired and regrew. It definitely looks like it has. It never ceases to amaze how a little color change can make any woman instantly sexier!

SpongeBob Squarepants Is Back–and Out of Water!?

2015 is already shaping up to be a stellar year for movies. Besides the major summer blockbusters ahead of us there are a few gems to keep us entertained during midwinter and spring. Everyone’s favorite “Nicktoon” is one of them! Yep, SpongeBob Squarepants is back on The Big Screen! Get ready for laughs, zaniness, craziness, and sheer joy as your favorite sea sponge and his motley crew of friends make an appearance on dry land!

If you’re a true SpongeBob fan then you know this is not the fry cook’s first trip to dry land. It is, however, his first lengthy expedition and a truly humanoid form. If you might recall earlier when he ventured onto dry land to win a bet with Sandy Cheeks he looked like a regular household cleaning sponge. This time around SpongeBob, Sandy, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs brave the surface world to retrieve the stolen Krabby Patty formula. There, they face an evil pirate. To take him down and save Bikini Bottom from anarchy the quintet become superheroes and RIPPED! How SpongeBob and his friends will save the day is anybody’s guess, but you just know you will be laughing all the while.

“My Guiltiest Pleasures…”- Ariana Grande

Whoever said a girl cannot make you fall in love with her voice alone must have been deaf, dumb, and blind! Lately, one such girl with a voice has been taking the music scene by storm. Ariana Grande is racing her way to the top! From a goofy Nickelodeon teen to a worldwide sensation–we are witnessing a new diva on the scene. As scary as that is to say, it is just as enjoyable!

Most of you out there met Ariana via the primarily kids’ network, Nickelodeon. There she co-starred on “Victorious” and later headlined “Sam & Cat,” alongside her former friend and co-star Jeanette McCurdy.
