[VIDEO/EXTENDED TRAILER] In Case You Missed It! Signal 23 TV Debuts New Series, “About Us!”

Signal 23 TV continues to push the envelope with its LGBT web series. Their roster of programming proves to be innovative and enticing.

About Him, Uncle Joey, Steel River, Tex Brown, and Climax,  have all been amazing series and now it is time for even more fun with its newest series, About Us!

The series centers around  a gay couple, Brent and Aiden, steering towards what seems to be a crisis in their relationship.  The couple, although in love, seem sexually dissatisfied, especially Aiden who is not content with just being a bottom in their relationship. As their discontent grows both parties seek solace and advice from family and friends, moving towards what seems to be an interesting “compromise.” Check out the extended trailer below!

We love this trailer! You get the sense this compromise might end up in a threesome–or to a greater extent a polyamorous relationship! If you are a millennial in the dating scene then you know monogamy may be becoming a thing of the past.  Open relationships and different types of commitment are on the rise. Polyamory is definitely nothing new and it would be interesting to see that on screen, especially if it works.

The show introduces new and extremely hot faces, and introduces a familiar one to the Signal 23 TV crew, actor/director, Davien Harlis. As you may recall, his film Red Carpet Hashtags & Heartbreak,  was met with rave reviews. His addition to the network is definitely a power move. We definitely look forward to seeing more of this series and will hopefully be snatching interviews with this new cast. A new series, new way of love, and compromise. This is going to be “LIT” (pun intended)!

Chris June is a young entertainer with a resume that includes some of social media’s most talked-about shows.

With an equally appealing stage presence to match, this DC area native is definitely a star on the rise and someone who is going to make waves this summer all over your social timelines. Get into this inside scoop behind the scenes with About Him and Raising Eli Actor/Singer Chris June.

Chris June was born Chris Williams and raised in Largo, MD to a single mother. The arts embraced Chris from a young age, indulging him in creative outlets frequently. Theatre, drawing, and even designing clothes in high school were just some of his endeavors. However, it wasn’t until drama class that he’d find belongingness in his ability to embody characters. After a few years, he’d cleaned up his gift and go on to Salisbury University where he’d obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Why a degree in Psychology do you ask? June goes on to explain how he puts to use his degree through every character he portrays on television and stage.

Signal 23 TV is definitely full of surprises! No we are not talking about the departure of a Web Star or a new series.

We are, however, talking about Kash Dinero covering Tevin Campbell’s song, “Tell Me What You Want Me To Do” in Episode 7 of About Him Season 2: The Revolution!

 Signal 23 TV posted an exclusive snippet of the song via their Instagram and we have to say we are smitten. Check it out below:

You can see the full video in Episode 7 of About Him: The Revolution. Kash’s cover of such a classic song comes as a surprise not because of the song choice, but because none of us knew he could sing. We are very familiar with the singer’s background (and we are still swooning) and are thrilled he can add this to his “body of work”–we mean repertoire! Dinero is a great singer and we hope to hear more music from him, even some original tracks. This song choice however is just perfect. Dustin (Gary Lavard) and Armani (Chris June) are definitely the super couple of web series in general right now and their love story has the potential to be as deep or legendary as any two star-crossed lovers lining the walls of fictional history.

What do you guys think of Kash’s song. We definitely would not mind a soundtrack of original music from this season of About Him (HINT, HINT) and are really loving how this season is progressing. The story lines, cast, and more importantly the activism of this series is nothing short of impressive. Kash Dinero drop us a line for an interview, we are definitely ready to get close and personal!

The End of “Tex Brown?” Tripp Ali (@iamTrippAli) Parts Ways w/ Signal 23 TV!

The world of web stars and web series changes quicker than Atlanta weather! One day we are happy to announce there is new web series to debut or a new web star to meet, and then on other days a web star is announcing his departure.

This time, unfortunately, it is the latter as Tripp Ali, host of The Plug and star of Tex Brown, has announced he and Signal 23 Tv are parting ways!

The news of Tripp’s departure was made known via an ominous Instagram post where he announced that today he was parting ways with Signal 23 TV.

His departure from the network comes as a surprise to many as his show has undoubtedly been one of the network’s biggest successes due to its content, grit, and the combined talent of Tripp Ali and Henderson Maddox. In recent months Mr. Ali he had even become of the faces, alongside Gary Lavard and Lando King, of the network and a highly anticipated tour, The Kings of Stream, has been in the works.

Naturally, we had to get a more in depth from Tripp about his departure. He sent this response:

I am an entertainer and when my craft is no longer respected or honored I need to move on. Entertainers must always be true to their craft and never allow themselves to be placed in an unfair contract or situation that goes beyond the realm of professionalism and decency. Continue to sign on to “The Plug” @ worldstarhitradio.com and I will updates on my next role.

We definitely wish Tripp the best in his future endeavors, but at the same time we hate to see Tex Brown end. The series may just be released in a similar fashion to About Justin upon Rico Pruitt’s departure earlier this year.  This has been quite the week for Mr. Ali, as you recall he announced he would be the sole host of The Plug after Brandon Karson’s allegedly abrupt departure. We reached out to Signal 23 TV, but at the time this post went live we had not received a response. Writer, Actor, & Absolutely Amazing! We’ve Got Nothing But LOVE For Alex Jante!

It is no secret that we at HeyMikeyATL love our web series, and more importantly web stars! The flare, performances, and risque world these budding actors have introduced us to is nothing short of addictive. By now, you might feel as if you know all there is to know about web stars. Perhaps you think there’s a simple formula to them– face, body, sex scenes, rinse and repeat–but you would be wrong. Especially when it comes Alex Jante, a true gem.

Alex  Jante is not your average guy, let alone web star.

This amazing young man is also an actor, writer, author and one of the stars of Signal 23 TV’s hit web series, Steel River: When We Were Young!

As you may already know, Steel River: When We Were Young is a prequel to Signal 23 TV’s flagship series, Steel River. Alex portrays “Will” a straight laced young man on the cusp of adulthood, who dreams of having a better life. Will also struggles with his sexuality, not knowing where his feelings end or begin when it comes to his best friend, Addison(Travis Demetri). “Will is a very passionate and loyal person in my opinion and perspective…he is a person who is really engaged in his friendship with Addison…he is cool and he knows about the other characters, but his loyalty really lies with Addison.” Interestingly, unlike most of the characters in the series, Will seems to be almost repulsed by his same sex attractions as evidenced by his face in key scenes. “So Will is the character that is very much like I said loyal to Addison up to the point that I believe he realizes Addison is struggling with his sexuality and because of who he is he wants his friend to be comfortable around him…so in that he becomes a little bit more affectionate and endearing and find himself in the head space of knowing he has love for Addison, but struggling with wondering is he in love with him just to be comfortable…I feel like Will is the type of person where if you were to be gay he is the person you would actually want to be with. For him it’s not necessarily the idea of a gay or straight struggle, just a relationship with Addison…” 

[VIDEO] Dark, Moody, & GRITTY! Signal 23 TV’s “Tex Brown” Goes There!

Life goes on and so does Signal 23 TV! The network that brought you About Him, Climax, About Justin, and Steel River has done it again with their newest web series, Tex Brown!

The series is yet another spin-off of About Him,  based on Tex (Tripp Ali), the older guy from the first season of the hit web series who taught Damien (Brandon Karson) how to give oral sex (coughing) and that his life cannot be all about Vince (Gary Lavard). As you recall, in the season finale the Tex was arrested for threatening to kill a man for gay bashing. Although Damien, Justin (Rico Pruitt), and Kendall (Rahim Brazil) avoided prosecution, Tex has done ten years in prison and is only now being released on parole! Naturally, the world around him has changed and he struggles to find a place in it. Tex must ultimately decide to face the demons of his past and move on with his life, or allow them to consume him and send him back to prison!

Artist, Web Star, & Great Guy…Rest In Peace Del Antonio (@MrDelAntionio)

Goodbye is never, and farewell is always bittersweet, especially when death is involved. It seems the good and talented die so so young and all too often too soon in this world.

We are deeply saddened to learn that one of those young souls is none other than Del Antonio, a noted painter, singer, web star, and reality television star.

On Sunday, February 12th, Del Antonio transitioned from this world to the next after a heart attack, leaving his family, friends, loved ones, and fans stunned.

As you may already know Del Antonio  was one of the stars of Signal 23 TV’s hit reality series, The Boyz Next Door ATL. Attractive and equally talented, he was loved for his strong, but kind personality and was well respected throughout the LGBT community in Atlanta and beyond. His death has personally affected us here at HeyMikeyATL, as in just a week were to interview him and discuss his new music and artwork. Although we personally, did not get to interact with Del Antonio in  a meaningful way like others in his life. This missed opportunity is nonetheless disheartening and painful.
