We are back to the cinematic world of the X-Men once again, and yet again the future looks bleak. Yep, the infamous third solo Wolverine film is ready to make its debut in March! This time around our hero, Logan, really is flying solo as all of the X-Men, and mutants for that matter, are no more. Only he and Professor X remain. Not only has Logan aged, but he finds himself bitter, lonely, and angry until a mysterious girl that Professor X alleges is similar to him emerges. We have to admit, when we found out she would be portraying a young “Mystique” in the X-Men reboot, First Class we were had our reservations. She was good-natured, hearty, and dependable Katniss Everdeen in our minds. Thankfully, this amazing lady proved us wrong. Not only has she slayed the screen as Mystique, she makes the character a believable hero–something that is far-fetched thanks to her status as a major super villain in Marvel Comics.
Now, let’s just say that the cinematic portrayal of Mystique requires some serious body! Especially, since she is practically naked! Jennifer has a really nice body–curvy, very feminine, but solid with some strength to it. She actually has the kind of build and look where she can pull any look off; we’re talking about red carpet gowns down to a tee shirt and panties. We are not sure what is up next for Jennifer, but we do not it will be awesome. Michael Fassbender didn’t find fame until his early twenties. In fact, his first screen role was that of Burton “Pat” Christenson in Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg’s award-winning television miniseries “band of Brothers” in 2001. He followed that up with roles in other prominent films such as “Inglorious Bastards”, “Prometheus”, and “Steve Jobs”.
The role Michael is most known however is playing Magneto, the X-Men star. He returns for the ninth installment, “X-Men: Apocalypse.” In this installment, Michael Fassbender’s character is living a normal life in Poland until Apocalypse recruits him as part of his plan to take over the world.
We’re hoping this latest movie will include a couple shirtless scenes because that man’s body is on point!

Shipp portrays Storm, a mutant superhero with the ability to control the weather, and has at times been the leader of The X-Men. Surprisingly, most do not know Storm was for awhile married to another superhero, Black Panther. The latter hero’s popularity is only skyrocketing thanks to his debut in Captain America: Civil War. For the first time ever both heroes will be on the Big Scree, just not together since Fox own the movie rights to the X-Men, and Marvel Studios retains Black Panther.

That is not stopping Alexandra from pushing for crossover between Black Panther and Storm. In an interview with Observ she states:
I want that movie so bad. I’ve got a pitch, I’m like coming up with a vision board, I want this movie to happen. Honestly it doesn’t have to be me – if Chadwick [Boseman] was like, ‘You know what, I really want to do this with Halle [Berry],’ I’d be like yo, that’s fine at least make the movie.
We definitely agree. Storm and Black Panther are easily two of the greatest heroes in comics and we need to see more Black Love on the Big Screen! Speaking of love, it seems a “friendship” has bloomed between Alexandra and her co-star, James McAvoy, AKA “Professor X!” Sources state the two actors have formed a strong bond while filming, and coincidentally James and his wife have announced they are getting a divorce. No one is saying Alexandra has anything to do with that, but stranger things have happened. We will keep you posted as more information unfolds!

The film begins with En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac), the world’s first mutant, born in Ancient Egypt. His life force is waning and requires a new body to transfer his consciousness into. The process usually leaves him rejuvenated and having acquired the powers of whatever body he has taken over. However, it is also when he is at his most vulnerable. He is betrayed by a few of followers and buried under rubble in hibernation for thousands of years. He awakens to find the world not as he expected, believing “the weak” have taken power through religion, government, laws and systems. He sets out to create a new world by destroying the old one!

It is official that Deadpool, the film centered around everyone’s favorite “Merc with a Mouth” is a bona fide hit! Despite being Rated R and somewhat gruesome it has solidified its place in cinematic history as the highest grossing R-rated movie to date. The next film is sure to deliver all the humor, gore, and action of the first–with the confirmed appearance of Cable! If you did not know, Cable is the son of the X-Men’s leader, Cyclops, and a clone of Jean Grey, Madelyne Pryor.

Deadpool is Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), a former bad guy who was good at taking out “badder” bad guys. He enjoys his life, his booze, and even his career path until he meets his match and “match mad in Hell” in bar maven, Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin). Their unconventional romance comes to a halt when he learns he has cancer and desperately accepts the offer a stranger to cure him and grants him super powers–after extensive torture! Deadpool emerges hellbent on punishing his tormentor, Dr. Francis, AKA, “Ajax,” (Ed Skrein) also a superhuman, but gifted with enhanced reflexes, strength, and a high tolerance to pain. It is a battle of the baddies–with the appearance of a well known X-Man, Colossus, and his trainee, Negasonic Teenage Warhead (mouthful)!
Deadpool is the first official blockbuster and superhero film of 2016. The chaos, fight scenes, and the humor above all else makes this one of the best movies of all time! Memorial Day 2016 will go down in movie history as Marvel’s merry mutants return to take on their most powerful enemy to date–Apocalypse. Armored, big, blue, and powerful enough to end the world this latest entry in the X-Men franchise looks more like a true apocalypse and less like the summer blockbusters we have come to know and love.

Armored, big, blue, and powerful enough to end the world this latest entry in the X-Men franchise looks more like a true apocalypse and less like the summer blockbusters we have come to know and love. I have to admit I was skeptical about how this movie would like after seeing Alexandra Shipp as a lackluster Storm, however this trailer quickly dismisses all of that. Apocalypse is not only the biggest baddie of this film, but he is controlling mutantkind’s Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr.–Magneto and Professor X! Just thinking that two beings as powerful as they are can be mere puppets to Apocalypse is mindboggling and exciting. Are the newest batch of X-Men really up to taking on him and their mentors?
Thankfully this is not another Wolverine film. As you know all of the previous films in the franchise have been primarily centered around Wolvie. Although we love his bad ass-ness, there are a ton of other X-Men that are just as interesting and even more powerful! With no screen time for him we get to see Archangel, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, and even Jubilee. Mystique even comes to the forefront as a leader when Magneto and Professor X succumb to Apocalypse’s influence. However, we have to wonder just how much time has passed in their world between the X-Men: Days of Future Past and this film? After all Nightcrawler is a full fledged teen and being that he is the son of Mystique and Azazel more than a decade has to have passed. (My curiousity is reaching a fever pitch!)
