About Him may be on hiatus until Season 2, but that gives us just enough time to dive into About Justin! As you may recall, About Justin, starring Rico Pruitt, centers on “Justin” from About Him, one of Damien’s (Brandon Karson) love interests. His debut episode,  Best Friends (Episode 10) nearly broke the internet. Refresh yourself on the hotness below!

Well now we get to see more of Justin as he navigates life, love, and drama in his own way as About Justin premieres Wednesday, December 14th.

Yep, Signal 23 TV,  has released a teaser trailer for the series , and it looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. See it below.

So yeah this trailer is hilarious, but hot! We definitely would have preferred him in Batman attire, but we digress (lol)! Rico is a very insta-famous (Have y’all seen his Instagram pics!?) and his character did bring a lot of buzz to the show, so making a spin-off series based on him was a wise move. We are not sure if any of the characters from About Him will be appearing on the series, but we are hoping for a few hot crossovers! We do know for sure Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta’s Mama Dee is playing his mother so you know things are going to be wild! Check back here soon, we might just have a few words from Rico himself!

“About Justin?” Rico Pruitt Dishes On “About Him,” Spinoffs, & Love!

Summer 2016 has truly been memorable. In just  the span of a few months we have watched tragic police brutality, witnessed a business mogul become a presidential candidate, and flash-backed to our childhoods thanks to Niantic and the release of Pokemon Go! Most of these events were either troublesome or depressing, compelling many to find some outlet or reprieve from all the swarming negativity. Thankfully Signal 23 TV  was able to provide us with some respite when it released the hottest web series to date, About Him.

The series centers around a young gay man, “Damien,” (Brandon Karson) exploring his sexuality the final summer before he heads off to college. Damien has a number of love interests; and although each of them are hot it has been scenes with “Best Friend,” better known as “Justin” that has really stolen hearts and made jaws drop! Rico Pruitt, the actor, and magic behind the character sat down with HeyMikeyATL for an exclusive interview where he discussed being Justin, behind the scenes of About Him, his future on the show, and his own love life.

Talented, inspirational, and HOT! These are the words that come to mind when you think about Brandon Karson– actor, model, fashion writer, and most importantly the star of Signal 23 TV’s hit series, About Him! Brandon hails from the grand city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana,and has always dreamed of greatness. As the grandson of a pastor, he grew up rather conservative, but shed his shell to become a rising star whose first project has been met with rave reviews and critical acclaim!

Brandon’s introduction to the world has been truly moving. About Him is told from his character, “Damien’s,” perspective, and is a  true coming of age story where he explores his sexuality his final summer before beginning college. His main love interest, however, Vince (Gary Lavard), is also his brother’s best friend. Their summer fling is rife with stolen moments, steamy hookups, and suspense so thick you will always be on the edge of your seat wondering what’s next! One would falsely assume all of this new found popularity and fame would go to his head. Instead, you get to meet one of the most humble, down to earth, and cool people on the planet. “I’m a very,  very funny guy…. really engaging, very hopeful, very passionate about everything you know.I love things that are natural…I love hot wings [he laughs]…I love clothes and I love talking to people…” However, he does admit being the central character of a series does come with a lot of pressure. “I think I get the most pressure because people who already know me don’t really expect me to be so timid and like in a jar. I have to be on point from the jump. What I love about the show is it’s kind of an evolution thing, and I had to bottle up–and I’m not a bottle up kind of guy I have to let it out! Damien’s not like that at all he’s more observant. I think that’s the hardest part.”

5/4/2014- “Aftermath Of His Drunken Kiss (Stay Away From Him!)”

What I’m feeling is wrong. For years now I’ve been in love with my friend’s boyfriend.  He got drunk once last year and kissed, but the next day he said it meant nothing. He said liquor just makes him a little uninhibited, but I really feel like he’s feeling me. I don’t think my friend should be with him if there’s something budding between us. I want to tell her what happened, should I?

***Mango Lover, STAY AWAY FROM HIM, and your friend for that matter.  You’re not being a good friend. There are tons of guys out there and you’re swooning for and chasing after your friend’s man. Can you say “trifling?” Side note, he was drunk when he kissed you. It does not make it right, but it does mean he was not coherent or about his wits. Darlin,  you’re grasping at straws and hoping by telling your friend somehow she will break things off with him allowing you to swoop in. Trust me when I tell you she will blame you, it look as if you tried to take advantage of him, and that you have some ulterior motive for telling her now. It’s time for you to move on. The only thing for you to do now is keep it classy and bow out!

4/24/2014- “The Eleventh Commandment”

I did something terrible. Like super terrible, but I had good intentions. My friend’s boyfriend is verbally and physically abusive to her. I also suspected he would cheat on her if given the opportunity.  I set him up and sure enough he did attempt to cheat on her with another one of our friends who doesn’t like him. That aforementioned friend felt guilty and told her what we did. Now she’s stopped all communication with the both of us, and our wonder how she will fare without us. What can I do to correct this? I shouldn’t have gotten involved, and now I’ve lost one of my best friends.

***Currently The Guilt Queen, you are both wrong and right at the same time. If your friend is being abused, whether it be verbally or physically she does need to get away from him. However, you approach to how to get her away from him was completely wrong. You should have gotten her some professional help via a counselor, domestic violence specialist, or the police if it was too serious! The way you have gone about doing this is nothing short than a soap opera storyline gone bad. Honestly, at this point there’s nothing you can do but hope she comes around and sees your good intentions. To me, the thing that really sucks about this is that you violated “The Eleventh Commandment;”–“Thou shalt not get caught!”
